While we, as the 44th fraction of ORAS, are concluding our year as members of the Student Council and are preparing for ourselves for the transition, the new group is eager to start their year as your representative in front of the board of the TU Delft. Minor: second sign-up period

plattegrond IO2This quarter, a faculty will be opened in the weekend of the exam period for study  purposes. The 24th and 25th of June, this Saturday and Sunday, the Faculty of IDE (Industrial Design Engineering) will be opened. You can find more than 600 study spots and 400 computers, opened between 9:00 and 22:00. For more information:

New RAS: the Profiling Fund

RAS, or now so called Profiling Fund, has been a real sensitive subject between the Board of University and the students. The Profiling Fund is financial support system which states that every public educational institution has to offer to students who experience delay in their studies due to certain forseen or unforeseen circumstances( e.g., illness, disability, students boards and associations,…). The RAS has changed this year!

The elections for the Student Council will almost start. That’s why the Campaign Committee is preparing for the campaign. Are you curious who these students are? You can read more about them in this article.

Starting of course with our enthusiastic number one, Marijke Blom! This extremely motivated member of the student society Virgiel is 21 years old and has been studying Architecture for three years now.  Past year she did an important committee at Virgiel where she managed the dining and party facilities of the society . Next to these activities, she teaches children at the TU Delft Science Center and she  is also the captain of her hockey team. Every Sunday you can find her, filled with energy, on the hockey field, coaching and leading her team to victory. She, most of all, cannot wait until the campaign begins!

Where would you prefer to study?

The TU Delft is working on the design of new educational buildings on campus. ORAS is involved in the design process and the surface distribution of the study places is discussed.
To make a good distribution, we would like to hear where you prefer to study. Would you rather study in a large study hall or in smaller study rooms ? Let us know what you think!

A shortage of lecture halls is a large problem for the TU Delft at this moment. On a long term basis this will be solved by new buildings like ‘Pulse’, but this cannot be solved on short notice. As faction of the Student Council we are trying to make the situation as comfortable as possible for you!

Last year, the TU Delft started with evening lectures. This is one solution, but an alternative would be to have lectures during the lunch break.
