The TU Delft is working on the design of new educational buildings on campus. ORAS is involved in the design process and the surface distribution of the study places is discussed.
To make a good distribution, we would like to hear where you prefer to study. Would you rather study in a large study hall or in smaller study rooms ? Let us know what you think!

A shortage of lecture halls is a large problem for the TU Delft at this moment. On a long term basis this will be solved by new buildings like ‘Pulse’, but this cannot be solved on short notice. As faction of the Student Council we are trying to make the situation as comfortable as possible for you!

Last year, the TU Delft started with evening lectures. This is one solution, but an alternative would be to have lectures during the lunch break.

Meet the 4th board of ORAS!

This year the 4th board of ORAS will run our association! The association is set up to help the fraction in side issues, to keep our members up to date and to make sure the vision of ORAS is propagated correctly over the years. The board will organize general meetings, political activities, drinks and dinners over the year. This year the board will also focus on writing a plan for the future.

Extra Studyplaces in the Library

14572334_1399565280058324_960302075859222678_nFrom today on, rooms on the second and third floor in the library have been remodeled to suit student needs.

– The first 5 rooms on the 3rd floor are Silent workplaces

– The last 4 rooms on the 3rd floor are Project workplaces

– The 4th floor has been remodeled to be Computer- and Laptop workplaces.

Also, in the upcoming weeks CiTG will make place for 100 extra workplaces and 3mE is improving workspace quality!

The elections for the Student Council will almost start. That’s why the Campaign Committee is preparing for the campaign. Are you curious who these students are? You can read more about them in this article.

Our number one on the list is Josephine Dumas. Once a week she was a coach of eight freshmen at Laga. She studies Clinical Technology as one of the first, is the smallest girl in the group but she isn’t afraid of anyone.

zxllner_29606940.original.large-4-3-800-137-0-2053-1437 At the beginning of this month ORAS handed out 1275 surveys to investigate the opinions of students about capacity and lecture hours. Per faculty students could fill in how they experience capacity problems and if shifting lecture hours would be a good solution to capacity problems. On introducing evening classes as a solution of the capacity the anwers were clear. Only 15% of the respondents agreed that this would be a good solution.
