IDEALiStiC conference in Delft

June 19th, 2015 | Geplaatst door Mathijs Hoogland in Collaborations | IDEA League

IDEALiStiCA couple of weeks ago an IDEALiStiC conference was held in Delft. IDEALiStiC is a collaboration between all student council parties from all individual IDEA League partners.

The IDEA League is a strategic alliance among four leading European universities of technology:

  1. TU Delft
  2. ETH Zurich
  3. RWTH Aachen
  4. Chalmers University of Technology (Goteborg)

The conference in Delft was held to look at the long term goals of the IDEA League, to exchange best practices, brainstorm for initiatives and to show why Delft is the best technical university of Europe! We as Delft wanted to discuss the following subjects and added them to the agenda:

  • Study success
  • Two different campuses for one university
  • Internationalisation
  • Master selection for own students

All the meetings resulted in a couple of interesting discoveries. Did you know for example that there is a law in Aachen that forbids teachers to obligate students to go to lectures? In the near future we are going to publish a report in which we are going to present advices to improve the collaboration between IDEA League universities.

For students there are a couple of cool initiatives that you can participate in. Next year the challenge program will start, this is a program of extra-curricular activities offered by four universities. This program is for selected students and consists out of four modules in the form of long weekends at each university.
